What is an umbrella company?

People who work but who are not in full or part time employment are required to arrange their own payroll in accordance with the tax laws of the country in which they reside. They can set up as a sole trader or limited company. The other option is to use an umbrella company which could be described as an intermediary solution.

The umbrella company acts as the employer, they process timesheets received from the employee/contractor, then issue an invoice to the client for payment. The umbrella company provides all social contribution and tax referred to as "PAYE, Pay As You Earn" and National Insurance returns on behalf of the contractor.

Personal Expense Details
When claiming personal expenses, the amount claimed will be offset against your income tax liability, in monetary value you will receive a percentage of this amount based on you current tax levels.
All expenses are subject to approval by Paycheck Services. We require that where appropriate the receipts are supplied as well as confirmation by yourself that the expenses were incurred wholly and exclusively for the performance of your duties, in the accordance with HMRC. Please also note that with all Expenses the two year rule applies, which means that if you are working or intending to work at the same site for two or more years you cannot claim any tax relief on your expenses
